The weather in Missouri has been absolutely crazy lately! We’ve had multiple days in the 70’s and all of our spring time plants are already blooming! Our daffodils are completely bloomed, the pear blossom trees are in full flower, and my forsythia bush is already bright yellow.
But hey, as crazy as that is, absolutely zero complaints from me over here. The fresh air and outside play does all of us SO MUCH GOOD and we have love, love, loved the chance to get lots of park time in instead of being cooped up inside of the house like we usually are in February. (I know it’s March now…I’m just behind on all of life)
So anyway, we went to our local park. Mabel matched the playground equipment in her yellow and both girls had a fantastic time.
I still giggle and laugh whenever I watch Mabel running around and playing and mastering basically everything. At this age I still vividly remember an incident at our local library when Abigail couldn’t figure out how to get into one of those fabric tunnels. Yeah…that happened.
We went to Chick Fil A earlier this week and I let Mabel loose in the play place. She was climbing the stairs and playing in the car and going down the slide just like the rest of the kids. Something Abigail NEVER would have done…(or maybe I wouldn’t have let her??) either way, it’s so much fun watching them be big girls and run around and not need my help for every.single.little.thing. Other than watching 😉
On this particular day, Abigail got it into her head that she wanted to master the monkey bars. Let me tell you, I was so proud of that girl. She tried and tried and tried again. Over and over she went for it, until finally, SHE DID IT! She made it all the way across the entire set of monkey bars. We were both so crazy excited, it was awesome. Her hands might have been rubbed completely raw, but it was totally worth it.
They used the swings, the slides, the rock walls, the noise makers, and the gravel pathway to build…who knows what. But they had fun doing it together, so that makes me happy 🙂
I’m so hoping that March continues this good weather streak as we head into Spring. We will take all of the lovely, warm, windows open, light breezy days we can get!
